About the CATCH Program
The courses we offer at CATCH Academy are led by passionate dog lovers who jump at every chance they get to work with dogs, talk about dogs, and train dogs. The school’s founder, David Muriello (pictured on the right), CPDT-KA, SDC (Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Service Dog Coach) is a Cornell University graduate who has appeared as a dog expert on ABC-TV’s Rachael Ray Show and in Dog Fancy Magazine. He was also a national speaker for the Petco Foundation as well as a member of the Education Advisory Group for the Association of Professional Dog Trainers. David founded CATCH Canine Trainers Academy to share everything he has learned with aspiring dog trainers. His passion can be found in the culture of our entire team and it comes from the fact that we love teaching people as much as we love training dogs.
The CATCH program is a masterfully designed combination of online and hands-on learning. This makes it possible for dog lovers anywhere in the country to become a Certified Dog Trainer while studying at your own pace, on your own time. In addition to providing you with a personal program director for your studies, we have a national network of mentor trainers that form an impactful community, and we are very proud to be at the center of it!
Our philosophy is to make self-paced learning hands-on and personal for every student. We always know your name here, you are never just a student ID number. CATCH headquarters are located in Little Falls, NJ. CATCH is licensed and approved by the New Jersey Department of Education and the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

In accordance with Administrative Codes NJAC 6A:19-7.1 et seq. and NJAC 12:41-1.1 et seq., the NJLWD and NJDOE have determined and certified that CATCH Canine Trainers Academy meets the minimum standards for integrity, financial stability, and educational quality, including the offering of a bona fide instruction by qualified faculty and the appropriate assessment of students’ achievement prior to, during, and at the end of its programs.
CATCH offers Financial Assistance and Pay Plan options. CATCH also accepts U.S. Veteran Funding as well as education benefits for military spouses.
I can’t say enough good things about the curriculum, the materials or the staff. The program includes comprehensive online videos and a library of books sent directly to your home (included in the cost of your tuition). The staff is fantastic, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.
